A golden retriever named Riley made a generous gesture toward his new pal — a zebu calf.
In a video posted by Frank de Bem on TikTok on Oct. 4, Riley leans into the calf's crate and drops in a plush toy, as a voice observes, "She doesn't want your toy."
The calf does engage with the toy for a moment and then stands up to inspect it briefly before moving on.
"She doesn't want your toy, Riley — let me get it for you," de Bem repeats to Riley as the social pooch starts to climb into the crate.

The video, which has racked up more than 6 million views, prompted comments debating the calf's level of interest in the stuffed toy.
"But what if the calf DOES want the toy and just has to think about it first?" wrote one commenter.
"She might want the toy…?" another observed.
Others commented on the kind nature of golden retrievers.
"Goldens will take every opportunity they can to make a friend, and I love it so much," one person wrote.
And other viewers predicted that the adorable duo would soon be the best of friends.

"Guarantee that dog and that calf are gonna be best buddies when she's old enough to play together," stated one.
A day later, de Bem shared another sweet video documenting the pair's burgeoning friendship.
"Riley giving our new Zebu calf kisses," he wrote alongside a clip of Riley showing affection for his new sidekick, a type of humped cow.
"Riley, is that your baby?" the pet parent asks the playful pooch in the video.
"Your dog couldn't be happier with the new addition," read one of the comments on TikTok.

On Oct. 6, de Bem offered more context on Riley's history of trying to interest calves in his playthings.

"This is how it started," de Bem wrote alongside a video of Riley as a young puppy, sharing a different plush object with a calf. "As a baby, he always wanted to share his toys with the calves in our house."
Finally, on Oct. 9, de Bem posted a follow-up video showing Riley attempting to toss another stuffed animal in the calf's crate.
"Okay, I'll let her keep the toy," he concedes in the video, which is captioned, "Riley is determined, so she might as well keep it."
